About Us

It's not often that you meet a group of three roommates who collectively take up the moniker of an inexpensive, regional bourbon that only one really likes, but we're not ones to turn down a good house name when inspiration strikes.  The Virginia Gentlemen are four native Pennsylvanians, one from Erie and two from Reading, who have made Northern Virginia home.  The Virginia Gentlemen's Club serves as our collective creative outlet which will, at least by a plurality of posts, revolve around food.  If we've learned anything from cinema in the past year, it's that this blog will become wildly successful, leading to power struggles and lawsuits over ownership and monetary concerns.  So, until then, take a few moments to get to know us.  We hope you enjoy yourself.

Geno Broshay

When Geno Boucher isn't slinging software to Uncle Sam, he's busy playing Call of Duty or cheering on his beloved Pitt Panthers.  Like all red-blooded men in the greater Washington area, he wants to become the Ultimate Bro.  He aspires to one day become a college professor, and he hates bugs. Gino, a true wizard in the kitchen, will primarily be sharing recipes.

J.J. Gittes

Jake "J.J." Gittes, a celebrated bird law expert and mustache enthusiast, knows how to make chicken, canned mixed vegetables, and macaroni and cheese.  He owns entirely too many baseball cards and is the only Virginia Gentleman who actually enjoys the namesake beverage.  Once he runs through his extremely limited cooking repertoire, he plans on writing about topics in his wheelhouse, including music and bars.

Percy Thompkins

Noted marathoner, tech nerd, and Justin Beiber fan Percy Thompkins is an authority on early 90s NBA and he has the teal Charlotte Hornets jersey to prove it.  A true jack of all trades, Percy can explain the finer points of actuarial science, killing Nazi zombies, and Bret "The Hitman" Hart's Sharpshooter.  Percy, who makes a mean buffalo chicken dip, will also be writing about food, among other topics.

Meet Matthew Dreamboat. The Dream will be a featured guest columnist on this blog primarily focused on movie reviews. Thanks to his expansive DVD collection and affinity for cinematic critique, Dreamboat will assert his prowess in this forum compelling his readers to access their Netflix medium ASAP. Aside from his passion for the silver screen, Dreamboat maintains the busy lifestyle of a traveling salesman in Western Pennsylvania, making his home in Pittsburgh. He enjoys Umbros, Girl Talk and the College of General Studies.
